In the first half of 2004,retail sales of catering tradeinChengdu totaled RMB8.43 billion, after only Guangzhou,Shanghai,Beijing, ranking fourth in China and first in westernregion.Retail sales of catering trade in Chongqing reached RMB5.8billion,ranking sixth in China.（Information by SpecialCommissioner’sOffice in Chengdu ）
